Cobb County government is clean—or at least its cars are. The county spends $35,000 a year to send its cars through commercial car washes—outpacing similar spending at every other metro area county by several fold.
Commissioners Say Taxpayer-Funded Car Phones Useful

Three Brownsville city commissioners now have private car telephones that cost the city more than $4,000 a year.
Since December, Commissioner William Garza and J.M. "Butch" Barbosa have been using car phone bought, installed and maintained by the city. Car phone bills for Commissioner Pete Benavides, who already owned a car phone, also are now being paid by the city.
