Torkzadeh holds a journalism BA from University of Minnesota and a political science MA and e-commerce MBA from Georgia State University . His MA thesis was on emergence of democracy in the Middle East. He divides his time between the U.S., Europe and the Middle East

He is a volunteer with charities in the US and Africa. Torkzadeh is developing BoolBool.net to market handmade products created by the artists of the Third World to First World retail and wholesale customers. The profits are to be reinvested overseas for badly-needed infrastructure and supplies.
