Two Ways Up the Hill of Life: It's Up to You

I want to see what’s on the hill. I’m tired of sitting around and watching those who do make the journey. I am tired of being afraid.

There seems to be two ways up the hill: The fast way and the slow way.

The slow way is easier. Less stress. Less risky.

The problem is that I don’t know how much time I’ve got to make it up there. No guarantees, no clues. I could be gone tomorrow and regret not heading for the hill sooner.

So the faster way is less likely to disappoint.

But the faster trail is steeper. When I stop for a breath, more chance of falling backward. If I fall, I would fall harder.

Slower road, therefore, appeals to my sense of caution and desire for comfort.

But there’s another difference, a big difference: The fast and steep road is entirely within my view. I can see it ending up the hill.

The slower road goes around the hill and disappears. Does it even end up the hill? Can’t be sure unless I take it, which could end in losing even more time.
